Playcubed’s 2022 highlights
As 2022 draws to an end, we can look back on another year of creating outstanding play spaces.
Another year draws to a close, and at Playcubed we will remember it for all the incredible play spaces we have created. After the restrictions and lockdowns of yesteryear, 2022 was the time where children could be together again and enjoy the wonderful benefits of play. We saw many happy young faces as children let their imaginations run free and enjoyed swings, climbing frames, slides and more!
As ever, we’ve spent the year hard at work in schools and public spaces across London and the South East. Here we’ve chosen some of our favorite installations that we hope will inspire you.
Creating outstanding play spaces
Imaginative Playground at Westerings Primary Academy
Playcubed returned to Westerings Primary Academy to design and install this fun and colourful cove-themed imaginative playground in Essex. The new playground area is part of the school’s ongoing development to create truly engaging spaces for the children. It features one of our timber schooner play boats with an incorporated traverse wall and slide.
Nature Sensory Garden at Woodland’s Park
Always keen to enhance their parks and open spaces, Gravesham Borough Council contacted Playcubed looking for a quick-turnaround new sensory garden at Gravesend Woodland’s Park. We understood their ambitions and visions for the new sensory space and what they hoped to be able to bring to the park as a result. This stunning space was the fantastic outcome – the pictures speak for themselves!
SEND Play Area at Walton Leigh School
Playcubed redeveloped a large outdoor space used by primary age pupils with PMLD, ASD and SLD. A sensory learning area was also created for secondary age pupils with PMLD. We designed these areas to enhance learning, encourage interaction and communication through multi-sensory activities, in a safe and welcoming environment.
Great use of space at Woodland’s School
Small but perfectly formed! Playcubed designed and fitted a colorful interactive space at Woodland’s School. The shade sails provide shelter from the elements, so students can enjoy using the space all year round. A great solution to get maximum use out of a small space.
This is just a selection of some of the playgrounds we have enhanced throughout the year. For more examples, head to our projects page where there are many more examples to inspire you.
Of course, if you have any playground plans at your school for 2023 we’d love to hear from you. Don’t hesitate to get in touch to start your journey to your school’s very own outstanding play space.
