Designed by architect Rock Townsend, ‘The Vibe’ has been an extraordinarily successful development by Telford Homes. It saw the existing Holy Trinity Primary School demolished in order to make way for an expanded two-form entry primary school and nursery. As well as an open-air playground.

Playcubed took the open-air play decks from insulation layer to finish alongside playground areas from groundwork stage to finish. The work included a polymeric Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) and also running track at rooftop level.

We worked alongside Telford Homes to overcome several logistical challenges. In addition to this we worked on developing bespoke playground equipment for the rooftop play areas and unique dipping ponds as well as ‘bear cave’ play features.

The project won the Mixed Usage Built Award at New London Awards 2017 and the London Sustainable Development Commission Award at the Housing Design Awards 2017.

“The scheme delivers very high-quality open space with almost 100% site coverage for amenity uses including school playgrounds, a play deck and MUGA, in addition to green roofs and residents’ garden.”
