We have long understood that well-designed outdoor play areas are vital. The few hours children spend outdoors each week builds social and cognitive skills which help them to thrive. No matter the space available, our team knows how to create a place where children can grow.
Every type of playground feature needs to be designed right and built right. In our eyes, creating a unique playground that's bursting with opportunity includes the capability to do them all. That's why our playground range contains everything from Activity Frames through to educational numeracy & literacy play panels.
Playground areas are always fun to be involved with, so we were thrilled to be chosen to design and install this outstanding playground area at Allsaints CE Primary School in Upper Norwood, London.
The area was originally natural grass. This became very muddy during the winter months and dusty in the summer. The school needed a play surface that could be used all year round – rain or shine – and not ruin children’s uniforms! Our SuperBlade Artificial Grass was the perfect solution, and perfectly capable of withstanding non-stop foot traffic from hundred’s of energetic children. Our UltraMat underlay ensures a soft bounce underfoot and compliance with playground equipment fall height regulations. One of our hugely popular Clamber Stacks made an attractive center-piece to the playground area. These enable a number of children to enjoy them simultaneously, and benefit from the many advantages of climbing.
The school were also keen to ensure the new play area featured a range of textures. We were able to incorporate these into a hexagonal pattern, along with an outdoor classroom to provide shade and shelter. A sensory or texture play is a fantastic provision in your school, especially if your school caters for students with severe learning disabilities – you could see more on these here.
