Embracing nature with a Woodland Play Area

Playcubed designed and installed this fantastic Woodland Play Area at The Clara Grant School in Tower Hamlets, London. The space was a previously an under-used area, and required a solution that would provide a long-lasting, engaging space that enabled children to experience the many wonders of nature. Our playground designers created this fantastic concept catering for specific requests from the school.

For longevity, a mixture of artificial surfaces were used to create walkways, with a bark mulch surface surrounding the trees and shrubs in the area. The timber arches give the area a sense of theatre and occasion, while the Study Hut provides great opportunities for discovery and research activates. The benches and natural logs provide seating options that enable the area to be used for group sessions. Log stacks and nature hotels provide habitats for insects and growing planters allow for children to grow vegetables and herbs.
