When a school is considering playground works, a typical belief is that the work will have to be done during the holiday period rather than busy term time. However, here at Playcubed we are breaking that trend. Find out how we are delivering our projects all year round and keeping our clients happy!

Their valid reasons for this are concerns over Health & Safety and potential disruption to their already busy school days.

However here at Playcubed we are breaking that trend. We spoke to our Contracts Manager, Adrian Denbow, to find out how we are delivering our projects all year round and keeping our clients happy.

Our work starts before we arrive on-site

We ensure all our staff are DBS certified and that full risk assessments, method statements and permits for works are completed by our project managers and kept compliant. Deliveries of materials, tools and supplies are scheduled in advance so that there is no vehicle movement when the children are at break or during busy drop off and pick up times.

Health & Safety comes first

At the start of every project, we securely fence off the works area and install safety signage, considering any specific emergency access arrangements. Each of our sites are provided with welfare facilities for our staff use so that they do not need access to the school facilities. Equally as important, teams have their own breaks to coincide with school break times, meaning work and noise is not ongoing when the children are outside. Staff will follow all school procedures to register their presence and regarding access codes or fobs for entrances when on site.

We work smartly

CAT scans are conducted on the grounds before and during the works of all projects to ensure that the grounds we are working on are safe. We also carry O&M manuals for all equipment on site to ensure the maintenance of our tools are kept up to date and compliant. Finally, where appropriate we will phase the project works, which means that we will aim to carry out the project in a way which we can hand back and re-open areas of the school quicker.

School holidays are only 21% of the year, yet at Playcubed we are successfully delivering projects all year round, don’t just take our word for it; here’s some of the feedback we have had from our clients.

“From start to finish the works took around eight weeks and were undertaken while the school was in operation. There was excellent communication regarding logistics, health and safety and movement around the site.  The work men demonstrated a professional and considerate manner and showed excellent conduct. The site was kept clean, and dust was kept to a minimum.

We would be very happy to recommend Playcubed and would definitely get in touch with the company for any future projects at our school.”

Hazel Brown, Headteacher at South Rise Primary School

“The team were professional and knowledgeable. This turned a potentially difficult and stressful project into a pleasure to be part of.”

Gail Weir, Head Teacher at Waverley School
