Imaginative playground installation at Westerings Primary Academy

Playcubed returned to Westerings Primary Academy to design and install this fun and colourful cove-themed imaginative playground in Essex. The new playground area is part of the school’s ongoing development to create truly engaging spaces for the children. It features one of our timber schooner play boats with an incorporated traverse wall and slide.

The school also opted to incorporate three bespoke role play huts. The school’s vision is to be able to use the huts each play time for different themed activities keeping the children’s imaginations forever on their toes! Imaginative playgrounds bring many benefits to children, as explored in our blog ‘The Importance of Imaginative Play in Schools’.

Access was a slight challenge we had to overcome on this installation due to half of the school being surrounded by woodlands and the playground area having no vehicle access. This meant we had to use a special trolley to be able to carry and walk the materials around the school perimeter to the playground situated at the rear. Access is a common obstacle we come across in our playgrounds but our experienced project managers are always able to come up with viable and innovative solutions to quickly overcome this.
