NATURE PLAY

Enjoy the outdoors with a nature learning area

Nature Play

Introduce your pupils to the pleasure of seeing as well as learning about their outdoor surroundings. The creation of wildlife areas stimulates children to explore the wonderful world of nature.
Learning with Nature

Today's children often have limited contact with the natural environment. With an ever increasing percentage of children spending the majority of home life behind a screen, the importance of a dedicated Nature Learning area has never been greater.

There is so much to learn from nature! Unlock a wealth of knowledge and allow children to explore wildlife, to grow plants, to discover wildlife habitats, as well as a whole host of learning opportunities. We've shared a few of them in the post below.

Planting

Learning to appreciate the wonder and power of nature is the core of an environmental education.
Planting areas teach children to take care of their natural environment whilst they tend and nurture seeds, tiny plants and established shrubs.

Eco Surfacing

Introduce a further sensory experience to your Nature area by mixing different surfaces. Many eco surfaces are wildlife habitats themselves too!
Seating

A dedicated seating zone within your Nature area is perfect for those outdoor lessons - a teaching facility surrounded by nature.
HOW DOES NATURE PLAY BENEFIT AND DEVELOP CHILDREN?

Bespoke Nature Play Design

Good design is about creating areas that provide inspirational and special places that function well, both now and in the future. All our Nature Play areas are bespoke designs - our specialist advisors and designers approach each project with a passion to create attractive Nature Play areas which blend with their surroundings.

Mud Kitchens

Mud kitchens are recognised as a key cross-curricular resource for younger children in order to achieve many learning objectives from the EYFS curriculum.

Children love to make a mess in the kitchen, and our mud kitchens enable them to do just that! Great for the imagination and a perfect activity for a Nature area, they can explore the characteristics of natural materials and have fun at the same time. Mixing soil, water and other natural materials together creates endless possibilities for developing collaboration and communication skills, language development, imaginative, social and physical skills.
